c.1830 Green Silk Stripe Gigot Sleeve Bodice

An amazing bodice that was purchased in Paris and dating to the 1820s. The bodice was repurposed at one point and went from c.1820 to c1830. The bodice has an empire waistline with a scoop neckline and wide pointed collars on the front and back. Dart fitted through the body with hook closures. Large gigot sleeves fall in plates from the armscyes and taper to the wrists. Small fabric covered buttons close at the wrists.

Condition: The reason I know the bodice was repurposed is that the front and back were flipped because the original hook and eye closures are still in the bodice with just the seam stitched closed.  There is some fading and tiny age spots. Two small pin holes on one sleeve.
