Description: 1980s Pierre Cardin Haute Couture silk dress featuring a dramatic halter neckline with an exceptionally deep plunging front and a completely open back, creating a boldly sensual silhouette balanced by the elegance of couture craftsmanship. Rendered in fluid silk with a painterly abstract print in shades of crimson, charcoal, black, and warm taupe, the fabric evokes expressive brushstrokes across the surface. The fitted halter bodice falls into a softly gathered waist and a voluminous skirt enriched with fine pleating, lending movement and lightness to the design. The juxtaposition of the daring neckline, exposed back, and fluid drape reflects Cardin’s mastery of combining theatrical glamour with sculptural simplicity. Striking yet refined, the dress exemplifies the confident, artistic spirit of Pierre Cardin’s haute couture creations of the 1980s.
Condition: Gently worn with no obvious damage.
