FROM THE PIERRE CARDIN ARCHIVES!

We’re thrilled to offer a rare opportunity to offer garments directly from the official Pierre Cardin archives. Each piece was personally selected by us and is being released to the public for the very first time. Every garment features a “PIERRE CARDIN HERITAGE” cloth label, hand-stitched inside, signifying its authenticity and origin from the historic archives and its place in fashion history.

Year: 2000

*Cardin's ready-to-wear presentations are considered couture or demi-couture since the garments never went into production for stores and were made custom for clients or the runway models were sold in the boutique sometimes featuring the boutique label.

This is the runway garment from the show. Many of these pieces still bear model names or line-up numbers on the inside.

Description: From 2000, this exuberant skirt showcases the designer’s inventive use of unconventional materials, combining a painted woven raffia overlay with a lustrous taffeta underlayer. The full, gathered silhouette falls from a smooth waistband, while the open latticework raffia creates a striking graphic effect that allows glimpses of the vibrant orange taffeta beneath. Hand-painted geometric motifs in shades of purple, yellow, green, and cream enliven the woven structure, lending the piece a playful, almost folk-art sensibility. Balancing sculptural texture with bold color, the skirt embodies the experimental spirit and artisanal craftsmanship that characterized much of turn-of-the-millennium couture and collectible designer fashion.

Condition:  Gently worn with no obvious damage.

Item: #128444
