Fall 2017 Moschino Couture! “Carpet Runner” gown, an extraordinary example of Jeremy Scott’s irreverent approach to haute couture and his ability to transform an everyday object into an elaborate evening garment. The gown is constructed on a nude, sheer mesh foundation that creates the illusion of the elaborate textile design floating directly against the body. Richly colored velvet tapestry motifs in deep red, turquoise, coral, ivory, orange and black are meticulously arranged across the bodice, sleeves and elongated columnar skirt, evoking the intricate floral and Persian-inspired patterns of an antique carpet. The fitted bodice is dramatically cut with an off-the-shoulder neckline, while the long sleeves are densely ornamented and finished with exceptionally long ivory fringe at the cuffs.
