Pierre Cardin, 1980s. Architectural shift dress crafted in olive wool knit, showcasing Cardin’s mastery of sculptural simplicity and innovative textile treatments. The relaxed, boxy silhouette features dramatic cut fringe cascading from the sleeves and hem, creating movement and dimension against the clean lines of the garment. Oversized black dome studs run vertically down both the front and back, adding a bold graphic element and subtle industrial edge. A striking example of Cardin’s futuristic approach to knitwear, balancing minimalist form with dynamic texture.
