Description: From the Pierre Cardin archives, this striking overdress is fashioned in luminous olive-gold silk taffeta with a beautifully crisp hand and subtle metallic sheen. Inspired by late 19th-century Victorian housecoats, the design features a standing collar and dramatic cape-style sleeves that fall gracefully from the shoulders and remain open underneath, creating fluid movement and an airy, draped effect. The sweeping silhouette flows from the shoulders to the hem, while soft gathering at the back creates the suggestion of a bustle, lending sculptural volume and historical elegance. A separate black patent leather belt with a bold circular buckle cinches the waist, providing graphic contrast to the fluid taffeta and allowing the silhouette to be shaped as desired. An exceptional archival piece that beautifully blends Victorian romance with Pierre Cardin's unmistakable architectural vision.
