1973 Pierre Cardin Haute Couture knit fringe ensemble crafted from a fitted beige sweater knit foundation. The dramatic turtleneck top is completely covered in cascading ombré fringe that graduates from soft ivory to vibrant seafoam and deep turquoise green, creating extraordinary movement with every step. A partial front zipper at the turtleneck adds a subtle utilitarian detail to the sculptural silhouette. The matching knit leggings continue the ombré fringe treatment and feature integrated stocking feet, transforming the design into a seamless head-to-toe look. Originally presented on the runway in 1973, this exceptionally rare archival ensemble showcases Pierre Cardin's innovative exploration of texture, color, and movement. A remarkable example of the experimental knitwear that defined many of Cardin's runway collections during the early 1970s.
